No one will argue that we live in a world of tumultuous and accelerating change, visible everywhere from the exponential adoption rates of digital technologies and growing urbanisation, to the failure of our public institutions and increasingly volatile financial markets. This degree of change, this Big Shift, can be disruptive and destabilising, but it is during periods of upheaval, that the right move, one aligned with these waves of change, can achieve far greater results than a big move. Simply put, by leveraging the forces that are driving change, we have the opportunity to achieve much, much more with so much less.

Join us for this special evening, with John Hagel, cochair of Deloitte’s Center for the Edge and coauthor of The Power of Pull, and learn how we might harness pull to reshape our lives, organisations and industries.

We will explore the edges of innovation, creativity, strategy and passion, where a narrative of a new world is emerging – one where practices and platforms allow flows of capital, information, and talent and enable us to create value and scale impact with fewer resources.  A  world where passion, serendipity and small moves smartly made can catalyse the transformation required to get from where we are now to where we want to be. A world where our our communities, organisations and institituions are in a state of being that is flexible and fluid, constantly evolving and continually adapting – in new state of always becoming.

Praise for The Power of Pull

[The authors] have given us a provocative and insightful look at the power of today’s knowledge flow. If you want to meet the challenges of working and living in the 21st century, this book should be your guide.” – Eric Schmidt, Chairman and CEO of Google

“This brilliant and exciting book shows how to pursue your passions by harnessing the power of networks. Success no longer comes from possessing knowledge; instead, you have to participate with others in creating a flow of knowledge. ‘The power of pull’—the ability to draw out people and resources for each endeavor—can transform both individuals and institutions.” – Walter Isaacson, President and CEO, the Aspen Institute, and author of Einstein: His Life and Universe

“The Power of Pull examines the “how question”—how can we effectively address our most pressing challenges in a rapidly changing and increasingly interdependent world? In The Power of Pull, John Hagel, John Seely Brown, and Lang Davison highlight fascinating new ways in which passionate thinking, creative solutions and committed action can—and will—make it possible for us to seize opportunities and remain in step with change.” – Bill Clinton, 42nd President of the United States of America
