Conscious capitalism and futures beyond economic growth

Many of us are interested in building better futures across environmental, social and economic horizons but what does this look like at the broader system level?

Some advocate the notion that conscious capitalism, shared value or social enterprise will allow us to improve quality of life and innovate our way beyond current environmental challenges. Free markets, entrepreneurship and competition, managed with trust, compassion and collaboration are the best vehicles to equity, sustainability and prosperity.

Others argue that we need to build a new kind of economy, rethink the money system, reconsider governance of the global commons, support the development of peer to peer culture and even work towards a not-for-profit world.

What kind of systems might allow the emergence of a thriving planetary civilisation?

What kind of organisations and decision making processes will best serve the development of these systems?

Join host Julian Waters-Lynch in conversation with Donnie Maclurcan, Caroline Mclaren and Murali Maheswaran for a lively, provocative and interactive exploration of the relationship between current organisational models and the bigger picture of our shared future.

Murali is inspired by you. What!? He doesn’t even know me. No matter, he believes in the truth of your emergence in this shared life. It indicates to him an abiding certainty of the deeply authentic greatness that only you are capable of manifesting. After a decade long detour through the Australian Public Service, the Victorian Public Service, private tax practice and curating not-for-profit leadership forums, he is no longer waiting for the Revolution, he is ready to co-create it with you.

Gathering from 6pm with panel discussion from 6:30pm to 8pm.

You are also welcome to join us from 4pm at the Hub for a shared discussion about the Collaboratory itself.

We will be following the discussion with drinks and inspired conversation. Hope to see you there. 🙂
